Here are the pictures from the photoshoot concerning the hairdresser-contest. I´m satisfied with the result, never taken pictures of children before but it was really enjoyable, much easier to work with then real models.
Tried to make the feeling of the pictures a bit old, feel free to comment my work. Thanx.

Denmark
Been a couple of days since my last post because the weekend was spent in Denmark. But before that I had two friends over thursday night, Andreas and Marius. We listened to music and drank wine basically, got drunk and enjoyed ourself. Marius didn´t leave until the next morning and said it felt like a one night stand, since I don´t remember how a one night stand feels like I probably agree.
Thursday night made sure that friday morning was a bit hard, but after a couple of hours it got better and me and my girlfriend along with her sister and her boyfriend took off to denmark by boat. Stenaline was our carrier and it was "Swedish Night" with karaoke and Bjørn Rosenstrøm concert, how gr8t was that. Got home from denmark sunday night after partying with Trine´s 80 year old granny and gay cousins, it was a blast.
A good friend of mine got back from a weekend in london with his girlfriend yesterday and he had bought me a gift. Yeah.
Banksy´s new book called Wall & Piece, love it.

Red, red wine
Did quite a bit of shopping yesterday, three pair of shoes and a couple of sweaters. Felt good, I´m very rarely out shopping, mainly because I never have money, but it felt good so I´ll try to do it a bit more often. Spent the night alone drinking some red wine and watching a dvd about the fantastic band Supergrass.
Been at the studio retouching all day and managed to finish three jobs, that´s nice since then I don´t have to go the studio tomorrow before heading to Denmark. Having two friends over in a bit for some more wine and good music, looking forward to it. The newest number of Natt & Dag hits the streets today so I guess I can publish the portrait I did for them, here it is. The man in the picture is the movie director Bård Breien, he has just finished a new movie that hits the cinemas within a couple of weeks.

Tuesday
Spent almost all day retouching last days shoot, even though it was only 3 pix. Got two more jobs to be retouched tomorrow.
Got across a new blog today, written by a professional photographer based in the US, this is Ross Halfin´s site.
Also love this blog called Foto Decadent, featuring fashionspreads with some of the greatest photographers out there, new pictures added almost everyday.
Started to sort out my "P" records for my new mixtape with artists starting with the letter P. Lots of good stuff on that letter, Pulp, Prince, Pastels, Primal Scream, Psychadelic Furs, Pretenders, Pipettes, etc. etc..
But now my bed is calling out my name, see ya.

Kidz In The Studio
After being away from the beloved studio for a whole week it felt really good to get back to work, spent almost 4 hours sorting out receipts and updating my financial records for the last couple of months. Only september left to do now and I´ll have full coverage of my incomes and outcomes for 2006.
At about 15.00 a whole bunch of people came to the studio, 3 kids, 3 moms, 2 hairdressers and 3 makeup artists. It was time to do another "Hairdresser of the year" shoot. The kids were adorable, the clothes were very nice and it all went great. Really like the pictures as I have just started to sort them out, it needs some heavy photoshop work though since they are supposed to look 1920´ish.
Got another job today as well, going to do another shoot for this magazine about cabins and cottages.
Felt like adding some pictures today and here goes, my girlfriend Trine in a lovely outfit up in the mountains.

Sickness
It´s been exactly one week since I got ill, and I´m still not feeling 100%. But I´m doing a shoot tomorrow so I have to go to work, have to do some retouching on both tomorrows and last week shoots as well. But I don´t have too much to do this week so I´ll take it rather easy, so I´ll be fully recovered until the weekend which I´ll be spending in Denmark. It sucks being sick, feel so guilty when I´m not being able to go to work and do something. But I guess we all get sick every now and then and I´ll just have to put in some more effort when I´m back in action.

Mixtape - "R"
Bought myself the BBC produced series Extras on DVD yesterday and have spent all day watching it, it´s superb. This is Ricky Gervais second big creation, the first is of course The Office. Even though Extras were hilarious it´s not quite as fantastic as The Office. But if they were to be made in the opposite order I´d probably like first one best either how.
I was listening to music when I got the idea to make myself a new mixtape, been a while since last time. Since I´m a vinylfreak when I say mixtape I mean the old-fashioned way, the cassetteway. I have a Sony Walkman with FM Radio on it, haven´t changed batteries since we got colour television. And as I was listening to the superb debutsingle of the late seventiesband The Rezillos I decided that the mixtape should just contain artists starting with the letter R. It´s funny how you re-discover your music when searching for specifics like this, one suddenly remember that Kenny Rogers actually has a cool song and that Brian Ferry has a godgiven voice. Could a band featuring Thom Yorke, Jack White and Keith Richards create magic? I think that making mixtapes after letters is quite an interesting idea and I think I´ll pursue down that road, maybe one tape for each letter of the alphabet? Well anyway, after a couple of hours with selecting and recording the tape looks like this.
Mixtape - "R"
Side A:
1. Ratatat - Montanita
2. Raincoats - No Ones Little Girl
3. Radiohead - Karma Police
4. Josh Rouse - Miracle
5. Rogue Wave - Every Moment
6. Roxy Music - All I Want Is You
7. Kenny Rogers - Just Dropped In
8. Lou Reed - Vicious
9. Ramones - Sheena Is A Punk Rocker
Side B:
1. Radio Birdman - Aloha Steve & Danno
2. The Rezillos - I Can´t Stand My Baby
3. Jonathan Richman - Roadrunner
4. Razorlight - Vice
5. The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes
6. The Replacements - I Will Dare
7. R.E.M - Radio Free Europe
8. Rolling Stones - Honky Tonk Women
9. Reigning Sound - Don´t Send Me No Flowers, I Ain´t Dead Yet

YouTube
Is just so extremely entertaining and timeconsuming, being sick it´s not much one can do but I guess I watched movies on that site for hours last night. Laughed about the whole mentos + dietcoke explosion, saw lots of different bloopers and almost all there is of Borat and Ali G clips. Borat is in my eyes one of the greatest comedycharacters ever created. I´m more of a chuckle guy, I rarely laugh at loud but he really cracks me up. One of the funniest Borat clips ever is the one where he gets dating tips in the US of A. It´s fantastic and here it is.

Fever
I´m sick. It sucks.
Felt ill all monday so I guess working for 7 hours wasn´t the smartest thing I´ve done. Just been home the last two days, travelling between my bed and my sofa, been watching a couple of movies, eating junk and drinking coke. It´s so boring because I´m not so ill that I just lie in bed all day and I´m far from well enough to do anything, so I´m just bored.
The ad I did a couple of weeks back for this mall is now out. The pictures was taken for a shopping mall a little west of Oslo called CC Vest, kind of a posh mall. Since my parents have seen the ad in the papers I guess it´s okey to put it on the net as well, so here it is.

Fashionpix
Very nice concert saturday that was followed up by a great party, had a good time and lots to drink. Was in a great mood until my alarmclock rang at 0800 am sunday morning, time to go to the studio for some picturetaking. Did some pictures for the aforementioned Hairdresser of the year competition, it went fairly well.
Later that day I went to see a football match that ended with a tie, Stabæk 2-2 Start.
Today I´ve been in quite a bad shape all day, got a slight fever and a rather heavy headache, but had to work and it really drained all my energy. Took a portrait for Natt & Dag that involved 25 baloons filled with helium, although 7 of them exploded before I managed to take a single picture I think it went okey.
Since the fashionseries I photographed a while back won´t great printed after all(F***) I´ll show it to you here instead, some mix up with the styling which meant that when the series would have been printed some of the clothes would be out of store, that sucks. I´d love to hear what you think of it though, feel free to comment.

Records
Did some retouching yesterday and had two meetings concerning "Hairdresser of the year" pictures, two completely different shoots but very cool ideas behind both of them. Went to "Team Eckbo" last night and it was hilarious, was seated on the second row and people sitting around us got picked on all the time but we were lucky enough not to be included in their jokes.
Slept late today before doing some windowshopping with Trine, getting clothes that fit when one is 203 cm is not easy. Guess I have to be more patient when searching for new outfits. Went to Tiger, the number one recordstore in this country, by far. Bought a couple of new vinyl´s like the new LP by Tv On The Radio. Later this evening I´ll go to a concert with Magnus Hængsle and then to a friend of mines party. Can´t stay out too late though since I´m shooting at 9 am tomorrow.
This is Magnus´s poster and his profile is photographed by me. Yeah.

Pain and Pizza
My neck really hurts after basketball practice yesterday, been in quite bad shape all day so worked a bit from my apartment instead. Turns out that some of the clothes from my fashionspread will be out of the stores by the time it should have been printed which means it might not get printed. That sucks. But beside that disappointment some other good things turned up as well. A couple of hairdressers called and asked if I could photograph pictures for them for the "Hairdresser of the year" contest, will do one shoot sunday and some more the next couple of weeks. I´m gonna do a portrait of a director on monday for the magazine "Natt og Dag", a picture for an ad agency next week and I´m negotiating with a firm based in London about some pictures.
Took my girlfriend out for dinner at Villa Paradiso, a fantastic pizza place. They definately have some of the best pizzas in town, love that restaurant. Tomorrow I´ll see "Team Eckbo" at Chateu Neuf, can´t wait, four of the funniest people in Norway on stage, together. I have the highest expectations.

30 !!
Wow, this is my post number 30. It´s slowly starting to look like a real blog, that´s cool.
Bought myself a new phone today, it´s called Sony Ericsson W900i. It´s really fancy and I bought it used so I got it for less than half price, that feels good. Currently transferring songs from my computer so that I have something to listen to while walking trough town. This is it;
Photographed another packshot today for a friend of mine, it might be used for an ad later on. I also took some prints from the latest fashionshoot that I did and showed it to a fashionmag here in Oslo and they really seemed to like it, good chances that they might buy it and print it. That would be superb, and also my first fashionspread in a real magazine. Won´t reveal what mag before it´s 100% settled.
Book Recommendation: Rough Trade Labels Unlimited
Following up from Warp this is the second coming of the Labels Unlimited series. Rough Trade is packed with interviews, photographs and cover art. Contains lots of exclusive information about this much loved indie label. As with the record I recommended yesterday this book also celebrates Rough Trades 30th anniversary. As one of the greatest inde labels out there I strongly recommend both the book and the cd for everyone with a sense for quality music.
Two pix taken by me with my new phone, a selfportrait and a picture of my room.

Etc.
Played soccer for almost two hours yesterday, raining all the time. Got wet.
But it´s fun, even though I´m not too good. Got a pretty good feel with my right foot and I´m not the worst central defender but that´s about it, basketball is my sport.
Skipped work today, one of the many benefits of being selfemployed, work when you feel like it. With slight modifications maybe but still, it creates some freedom. I´m heading to Rockefeller later on to see all the entries submitted to the VG-Competition. I´ll cast my vote before heading to Betong to see some friends of mine play a gig, The Flying Fellinis.
My housemate Terje mailed me this YouTube link today. One of the cooler productions I have seen on that site actually.
Record Recommendation: 30 Years Of Rough Trade Shops
It´s a collection of songs selected by their customers, 30 of them to be exact. Rough Trade is one of my favourite independent record labels and stores and this record really sums it up. Quite a lot of superb music. Go buy.

Abbas
I´ve had a great weekend, couldn´t be happier with the guests.
Went to the Stenersenmuseum today to watch a new exhibition there by the well-known Iranien photographer/filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami. His photographic work is mainly concentrated around landscapes and much of that at Stenersen as well but most of the pictures are of shadows in snow and he has some really amazingly beautiful pictures hanging there, very graphic and very appealing. I recommend you to take a trip there, interested in photography or not. After that me and Trine went to the city hall to see the work being showcased there under the title Norwegian Pictures. More than 200 pieces by norwegian and foreign artists featuring all kinds of mediums, some great and quite a lot not so great in my opinion. But my view on art is rather narrow I´m afraid, I quite rarely see things that blow my mind. But Mr. Abbas really caught my attention.

Gay Animals
I just had to write a post about it. While writing this, Schrødingers Katt on NRK had a reportage about the upcoming exhibition at the museums at Tøyen, they also featured an interview with a woman and her gay cat. One of the guys behind this exhibition guested Skavlan last friday, the exhibition I´m talking about is about gay animals. There has not been a great deal of research about this subject and one of the first big reports about it came in 1999. But isn´t it obvious that there had to be gay animals, we have gay people and who would we have "inherited" that of if not from the animals? Well anyhow, I think it ´s interesting that it´s finally some hard facts about it and I can´t wait to go see it.
Wondering when gay animals will be the next must-have fashion item, how can Paris Hilton and Aylar consider themselves serious without a gay dog in their purse. I predict it will blow up pretty soon.

VG
I wasn´t too effective yesterday, got some retouching done and went to a meeting concerning some pictures to be taken today. The pictures are for a commercial that´s entering the annual VG-Competition, which is a competition for all the ad.agencies sending in an ad for a client they do not for the moment have. I like the idea about the one I shot for, simple and clean but clever. I´ll post it here once it´s finished. Took quite some time photographing and retouching the pictures today so as the hours flew my time to retouch another job got shorter and shorter. Thankfully I´m able to finish the other job on monday instead of today. Got some other plans for the weekend, a special guest is coming to town. For those of you who know me well you should easily figure out who I´m talking about.
Did I mention I went to basketball practice yesterday, so sore today, I´m in such a bad shape. I used to play with the norwegian flag on my chest, a couple of years ago but still, wouldn´t mind to be a little bit fitter. Guess I have to work out more.

WeekEND
What a refreshing weekend this has been, or actually it is closer to a week than just a weekend. 5 days up at the mountains really creates some energy, I recommend that to anyone. Took both friday and monday off so have to get up early tomorrow and start working again. Have to locate props for some pictures to be taken thursday, also have some paperwork to be sorted out not to talk about all the retouching that needs to be done. More than enough to keep it a busy week at least. Even though I have slept long hours 5 days in a row now I still need some hours before my bell rings again tomorrow morning. Can´t wait to next time we´re heading back up there. Thanks Trine.
