håårs

Had a lovely day down in Vestfold today, shooting portraits and more for Agrodata with Making Waves. At least two more days with the same recipe at different locations. Probably next week. So now I can concentrate on the image I'll be doing for Ruter and all the details that need to be shot for the composite to work. I'm feeling the pressure, have I got the skillz to pull it off?

Shitloads of work

In addition to 3 days of shooting with Making Waves, 8 pictures to be finished for DFDS, pre-production for another Hansen & Dysvik film to be shot next week I also got a job for Ruter with a loooot of pre and post-production. So I'll be living in the studio for the next two to three weeks. Take care.

Photographer of Friday #1

Inspired by the great guys over at WORK I'll start a weekly tradition presenting work from some of my favorite photographers each friday. Starting off with the highly talented Dimitri Daniloff working out of Paris. You can also check out a interesting interview with him at F-Stop.

Here are some of my favorites.

Flust.no

I got assigned by Toxic to shoot some still images for them to use in two commercials for Flust.no. Here they are.

DFDS

Had a rather hectic shoot today with 5 adult models, 5 kids, 5 parents/clients, 1 art director, 1 stylist, 1 assistant and myself.
A lot of people involved but a very funny day indeed, the results turned out pretty great as well. Have some interesting details that need to be solved in photoshop but hopefully I'll manage.

Got assigned to another job today that has been in the making for a couple of months almost. Will be shooting a bunch of portraits with Making Waves.
The christmas-themed film for Hansen & Dysvik with Los & Co finally got settled as well so that will cover up my next two weeks with work.

Todays rather simple set-up.

http://www.heiaespen.com - videos

The superb guys over at Upstruct has incorporated videos from Vimeo so that they can be featured on my website. I'm very happy with the result. Check it out.

Canon 1d mkIV

I'm shooting some images with Los & Co for Hurtigruta today. But who cares, what amazed me today was this brand new video shot with the brand new Canon camera not even released. The entire film was shot on iso6400 and no external lighting was used. It's insane. No noise. Jeeez.

Fooooood

I'm attending a 3-day food course and it is extremely cool. Effective
but attentive to details, learning a whole lot.

The pig is back, in todays D2.

CanCam

I got assigned to a new job today, will be shooting for DFDS with Suddenly Oslo next week. I have another interesting job in the waiting as well, hopefully I'll be able to do it.

Bought the new Canon G11 a couple of days ago, I haven't had a decent compact in years and with this I'll always have a camera with me, the files look promising as well.

Elephant

UPDATED:
Got some nice feedback about the shadows beneath the elephant, I have now worked with that so the elements feel more attached to the ground and less floating. Here is the updated image. Better?

I have created another image with an animal that follow the trend I started with the horse. The goal is to create 6 images in this, can I call it a series? This time I came across an elephant residing somewhere in Telemark.

Here is the final image, the original images and the Making Of video.

Another video

Showing how I created the picture of the horse. This is own work and part of a bigger personal project.

Making Of -

Re-made the videos for Ruter and Stratos, added some music and stuff. I also made videos from the postproduction on the Radio Norge pictures.

Inspiration - Dave Hill

I spend ALOT of time on the internet, and quite some of that time is spent searching for inspiration and looking at what others create. There are so many talented artists out there that wipe me off my feet, but instead of just acknowledging the fact that almost everybody is kicking my butt I do my best to keep improving so that maybe one day, I'll slowly but steadily crawl up their feet and legs and become quite a talented guy myself. At least that is my goal.

There is this one guy in the states, quite young as well that has caught my attention lately. Dave Hill. Even though he takes it a bit too far for my taste and makes it look more like a illustration rather than a photograph he is a master of manipulation. Incredible stuff.

Check him out

Thingies

More shooting today. Not the most advanced job I've ever done, shooting products on a white backdrop.
But it still have to look smashing so it's quite a challenge actually.

That's Hairy

My hair has been growing very freely the last... well, as long as I can remember really.
So I took advantage of my stylist on today's shoot and cut off some of it, not too much though.
Jeeeeeez louise that's alot of hair. Crazy.

work.sleep.work.sleep

This week has been all about working and sleeping, nothing more nothing less, 14-15 hours in the studio each day. Pretty tiring but very rewarding in every way as well. I'm truly happy with what we are creating. Hopefully I'll finish most of the work tomorrow so that I can have the weekend off. The ads we are making will be all over the country from the 8th of October. Boards in every major city, huuuge posters at the airports and ads in some selected newspapers. It will be extremely visible. It's not very long since the campaign I did for Radio Norge crowded the streets so it's cool that I'll have another campaign up and running not long after.

Meanwhile I'm posting these two ads that I did back in May or something with Try ad agency. The ads will be featured in selected magazines from now on and some time forward.
