As the sun hits the sky

I woke up this morning feeling a bit emotional and philosophical and once I saw the beautiful weather outside I knew I had to go outside.
My mind needed some cleaning up and I felt like pondering about the ups and downs in life, it felt easier to wonder why some things have to be so F****** difficult with the sun in my eyes and good music in my ears. I walked for a couple of hours and even though I didn't find the answers to everything in life it felt good. I came across some missionaries on my way and actually spent quite some time talking to them. Most of the time I am as you all know cynical, selfish and not a very pleasant fella, but since I was in my bigger than life mood today it was good to talk to some people that believe in something I have not yet started to believe in. They were really nice and I had to photograph them when we separated, me with a flyer helping me to reach God, them with the belief they had salvaged another doomed soul.
A bit disappointed about the fact that they couldn't guarantee success in life, work and love if I only started to pray but they were quite sure my life would be better and more meaningful if I did. Maybe I'll start.

´yello

I have finally started my fashion portfolio, hopefully I will finish it during the week. Had a veeeery exciting meeting last week, something superb might come out of it.
The client had other opinions than me and the ad agency about my last shoot, the picture we wanted was too sexy for them so they chose a picture I'm not so satisfied with. That sucks. Here is the neglected picture.

Now this is funny;

Juno

Just finished photoshopping last weeks shoot, I'm very happy with one of the pictures and semi-happy with the other. They will both be hanging around on buses and tubes in some time. And of course published here once I'm allowed. Tomorrow I'll be meeting the guys at Upstruct for some talks about my new website that they are creating. I might have gotten a really exciting new job as well, will know more after a meeting friday morning. This blog is boring now, no new pictures, ever.

Went to the movies yesterday and saw Juno, it was tremendous. Highly recommended.

Friday

Had another 12 hour day yesterday, did a commercial shoot with Saatchi & Saatchi. We had some model-problems but as soon as they were sorted out it all went smoothly. But since the art director is in Copenhagen this weekend I wont be able to finish it until monday so that means, early weekend for Mr. Nersveen. Yeah.

Had a meeting at Dinamo this morning. Amazing location, this is one of many beautiful views from their garden.

Long day

Tired now after nearly a 12 hour day, worked with pre-production for thursdays shoot when my good friend Torkel from Kitchen called me with a job. A pretty urgent one as well, has to been done tomorrow so spent the evening locating props and setting things up in the studio. But now I'm tired so will be heading home. Cheers

Midweek

Several meetings finished, the feedback is good so hopefully it will result in a future work-relationship. I've gotten another job though, will know more about it later this week I guess. The meetings has really given me a boost and will try to attend at least one meeting every week all the way towards summer. There are so many great creatives out there and they all need to know that my purpose in life is to make their ideas come true.

These are the "brains" behind 2008scandinavia.

Yeah

Had my two first meetings today, and the superb guys at Virtual Garden liked my portfolio enough to give me a job on the spot. A really cool job as well. Yeah.
Have a great weekend, I'll be drowning myself in good food and wine.

Lego

kicks ass. It's their 50th anniversary this year. Happy birthday. This piece of art is made by 2008scandinavia.

I usually work from 10 until 18 on days where I don't have shoots or specific stuff to do. Today I went to work at 08, and it felt superb. So from now on, my new work hours are 08 until 16. Suddenly I get two more hours. That's 730 more during the year, that's one more month. That's insane, why haven't I thought of that before.

Photographed Magnus Reitan today, very pleasent fella. I wish I had 1/1000 of his money.

Alexia Bohwim

This is the picture I did of her, out now in MANN.

Jeez Louiz

Today I have spent all my money and then some to purchase the brand new Canon 1ds MkIII. That basically means that if I dont get some cool jobs in the near future I'm bankrupt. Well well, it's a cool toy. I just really hope that I have made an okey decision, it's scary spending that amount of money when you don't really have it.

Animals

This is the entire cover for the new album by Animal Alpha out yesterday. It has received quite good critics and I wish them all the best. The design part is done by Lars Imre in the band, you can check out his designsite called Flottings.

Today and tomorrow I'll be documenting some commercial work by 2008scandinavia, the same guys whom I did the Oxygo shoot with.

Next week I'll shoot Magnus Reitan for the danish newspaper I shot Petter Stordalen for earlier, wonder if I can make him wear my shirt.

Hard Working Man (one more cup of coffee)

After a couple of hours of lazy work I headed towards løkka for some lunch. Went to Bar Boca where my friend Halvor works. What was supposed to be half an hour suddenly became more like two and a half hour. Sandwich, an alcohol free drink made especially for me, three cups of coffee and two glasses of water went down the drain. Thanks mate.
Later today I'll play some bowling, big lebowskistyle. Jesus.

Animal

Okey, to clear things up. The body is not mine with photoshop. It's no photoshop at all actually. Only a bigboned model.
Shot some pictures of Animal Alpha some time back.

This is from their website.

Panda

20.000

This is one of the ads I did last week. It's for a gym down in Kristiansand. It felt good to finally be both the model and the photographer at a job. It makes things a lot easier.

Got my mac back today, yeah. Hopefully it will last a bit longer this time.
The blog has just passed 20.000 guests. Yeah.

New week

I gave a lecture at an elementary school today(14 year olds), about working as a fairly fresh photographer. It was a great experience and the kids were very polite. My plan b has always been to become a teacher.

Looots of manipulating on this job I'm working on, but it looks promising. Will do another picture tomorrow.
Got the ads from this other job that I did, for Eiendomsmegler1, the job disappeared with my mac and had to be shot again and all that. But I think it looks fairly nice.

Bestiality

Earlier this week I shot a debutant on the bookscene. Her name is Alexia Bohwim and has written a book called Frognerfitter. She was definately an interesting character and I like the picture we made together. Today I shot some commercial photos, with a supercute pigcorpse. If anything, a photographers week is never the same. I have loooooots of manipulation in front of me but I think it will be some really cool ads. But now I think the redwine is calling out for me.

Cheers. Enjoy your hotdogs and burgers. Yammi.

Lars Monsen who?

Had a great time in Tove's birthday at Blå yesterday. But kept the alcohol level low and even though it got a bit late I still managed to meet my dad in Sørkedalen this morning. My first crosscountry trip this year and it was superb, 22 km and a kvikk lunch makes one feel good. Heading back tomorrow as well with some friends of mine.

I have finally found out how the man upstairs communicates with us....

I got single some time ago, today my brand new imac took suicide after two weeks, ruining my last job that I spent two days on. I will have to reshoot the entire thing, some other pictures and stuff also disappeared of course. Then I spilled half a litre of soda all over my receipts while working with my 2007 accountings. Later today I managed to drive into a road that of course was a one-way traffic road, containing a police car. I've never been pulled over before so it was a new experience giving the cop my driver license and registrationcard, fortunately he quickly understood I hadn't seen the sign so nothing happened. I'm not sure I really want to get out of bed tomorrow.

Sunday

I have a dream.
And that consists of me becoming a photoshop guru. Reading, experimenting and failing is what I believe to be the recipe.
Goofed around in PS today while watching some bad telly.

New StUdIo !!!

For the third time in about 16 months I've been moving into a new studio. Hopefully I can stay here for some time. Because it's f****** fantastic. We are currently making some changes here, a completely new kitchen have been brought in. New floor is being laid in that kitchen, it will soon also include a dining/meetingroom table. New sofas are on its way for the lounge area and some painting will be done.

This is the main studio, with the kitchen up the stairs and hangout area beneath the stairs. It's a huge room with great shooting space. Two different directions/walls to shoot at.

This is my officespace, some more shelves and plants will be purchased. I'm also going to have a sofa where those boxes to the far right are now. I really like it, and the big window is superb.

This is a daylight studio, because of the refreshening of the studio it's a bit messy now. But it's great to work in.

The makeup/styling area

Our lounge, soon to have its makeover..

Everyone that's visiting my blog is of course more than welcome to come visit me in my studio.

Good night

I got the keys to my new studio today, I totally love the place and the guys I'll be sharing it with are superb. Will be moving in a bit this weekend and continue next week.

A referee that chose the wrong door, one would have thought that it was hard to confuse soccer with ballet.
