After joining Palookaville, I decided that I didn't need two websites. So I forwarded my domains to my Portfolio at Palookaville, but then all my contact-info and links to this blog etc was suddenly nowhere to be found. So I asked Tight to help me out, and they made this nice looking entry page. So now when you go to my website (www.heiaespen.com), this is the first you see. It has links to my (not so often updated)facebookpage, (my not so active)twitter site, this blog and my portfolio.
Coolio.

Utleiemegleren
I did this job for Utleiemegleren together with Bouvet. When I was presented the idea I must say I thought quietly to myself, "can I pull this off?". It was quite challenging, a couple of days shooting and then about a week with postproduction. But I'm very happy with the result and so is the client.
Here are the images. They can be seen even larger on my website - http://www.heiaespen.com

Idun Pizzagjær
If you are tired of the pizza dough doing everything it can to ruin the dinner, then you should give this new yeast a try.

Sticos
I shot these images a couple of weeks ago in collaboration with Tibe-T ad agency from Trondheim. The client was Sticos and it was a wet day in the studio. ;-)

Flowerpower
Just finished a two-day shoot and now I'm looking at about a week with postproduction. But after a couple of days with anxiety I actually believe that it will turn out pretty cool.
So let's start working.

Artsy Fartsy
Some people say that men can't do two things at once, well I guess I'm the exception that confirms the rule. I can create art while driving a car. Yes, you are allowed to applaude. Thank you very much.

Flash it
Had a very nice day in the studio today with an amazing chef from Colombia, mexican food for lunch and happy clients. We shot for a brand new product that's coming sometime February. I would love to tell you what it is but then I'd probably be dead before christmas.

Glava
It's been some busy days with several jobs coming in. Today I had a fun shoot in the studio for Glava. I think the images will turn out quite nice actually.
If the sun decides to join us tomorrow I'll be shooting for Help Insurance and then there is still a shoot or two before christmas.

Unicef
Together with Isobar I did these images for Unicef. The campaign is called "the one" and is about adults stepping up, and helping out kids that for different reasons are not looking forward to christmas. Even though this is a campaign aimed towards the holiday it is very much allowed to care the rest of the year as well.
Please take a look at the campaign-site. - Den Ene

Friday's Finest
I didn't have time to publish last week but today it's time for another post.
I'm a photographer and what inspires me the most is great works of photography. When I first saw this image of the airport I really liked it as a photograph, and then I found out that there is no photography involved, just cgi. That's quite incredible, even the guy is made in 3d. Scary shit.
Both of these images were created by Marek Denko.

Willy Wonka
I recently saw this image on Grunerløkka. It was hanging on the building which will be transformed from an old chocolate factory to brand new apartments. Pictures always look more cool when they are huge.

iPhone 4s
I've got myself a new phone. The brand new iPhone4s. What I love the most about it is the camera. It produces extremely high quality images considering it's a phone. For me personally it makes the compact camera almost useless, my phone is always with me and since I can count on it to shoot everyday snaps that's all I need. Thanks Mr. Jobs.

Friday's Finest
It's friday and time to showcase some great work. This time we're heading east to our lovely neighbors the swedes. Let me introduce Petrus Olsson. He is already doing work for norwegian ad agencies so I guess I shouldn't be showing off his work, but whatteheck, great photography deserves attention.
What I love about his images is the mood he captures, it's cinematic and beautiful. He manages to make hardcore photoshopping look real and that's impressive and something I strive for as well.
Enjoy his work, for more pictures head over to Adamsky.

Behind Dist
Yesterday I went to the great agency Dist Creative and photographed all the employees. What a lovely bunch of people. Now I just pray that they will be happy with what I did.

Location
While you bastards were sleeping off your hangover, I spent the early hours scouting for a suitable location for the shoot on thursday. Working on a sunday, now that's what I call work-ethic.

Friday's Finest
I've been to several portfolio-meetings this week, and that's always a nice experience. Good people, good coffee and some chatter about photography and advertising. I like that.
I've also been booked to shoot two jobs next week, one for Dist Creative and the other one for Isobar. Looking forward to it.
But enough about me, let's add someone else's work to this blog. Let me introduce the amazing Jean Yves Lemoigne. His work is out of this world, I'm loving how he combines realism with postproduction. His site is definitely worth some of your time.
Here is three images he created for a magazine and they pixelated the models using cgi.

Friday's Finest
Friday is a good day to publish some inspirational imagery, so I'll try to publish some work that I'm quite fond of each week. These images belong to the extremely talented Mat Baker.
Have a nice weekend.

Popsy
Some of you have probably eaten this chocolate in Sweden considering it is the best-selling candy over there. If you have then you would notice that in Norway it will be called Popsy, instead of Polly. Some peanuts prevented them from using the same name here.
Anywho, Dist Creative asked me to photograph a couple of stills for them and I gladly accepted. The images will be on adshells so hopefully you'll see it.

Trondheim
For the first time since Iben came along I spent the weekend away. I went to Trondheim for some inspiration. On friday I showed my portfolio to six different ad agencies and I got some very nice feedback, my self confidence would like to say thanks.
On saturday I went to three different lectures at my old school Fotofagskolen. I went to see Erik Almås, that was very inspirational. He is such a talented guy and it seems like he is kicking some serious ass in the states. Lots and lots of great jobs.
Then I went to see Simon Cederquist. A swedish artist living in Berlin. I must say I really admired his guts and how he believed in himself and his work. Truly anti-jantelov.
And the last lecture of the day was none other than Oliviero Toscani. He is quite the legend, becoming world famous for his controversial commercials for United Colors of Benetton. He was intense and enthusiastic. He sort of made me wish I was a photographer in the 60s, 70s or even 80s.
Sometimes one really need these kind of weekends with lots of creative input and inspiration. Thanks.

Friend or Foe?
Say hello to my new nemesis. It's quite the competition. I feel like David trying to kick Goliath's ass. I wonder who will come out on top, results will be available in a couple of years time.

Heia Espen + Palookaville = True
It's official.
After working roughly 5 years on my own an era is finished. I've been signed by the agency Palookaville, and I'm super-excited. A lot of changes is being made to the agency these days which I will get into at a later date. But they have high ambitions and goals and that suits me to perfection. A brand new website will be up in November and from what I've seen so far it's going to be a perfect site for viewing pictures. I'm flattered and very proud that they wanted to sign me and this has given me plenty of inspiration and motivation.
There is almost one and a half year since we started to refurbish an entire house and then we had our daughter Iben, this has of course taken a lot of focus, time and energy. So now I am extremely ready to really focus on my work and hopefully the ladies running Palookaville will help me on my way. :-)
But no text without a picture. I present to you Tanya and Nina, the chicas running the agency.
